FAQs

MedFlow sits on top of your EHR to support value-based care and create stronger outcomes for clinics across the nation.

FAQs

1.Our EHR already does this. What does MedFlow add?

Your EHR is the system of record and it is good at that. It can flag a patient as due, and it can hold the order once somebody places it. What it does not do is carry the work between those two points: finding everyone who qualifies today, sending the outreach, and following the referral until the result comes back. That stretch in the middle is where care goes missing, and it is the only thing MedFlow does. Nothing in your EHR is replaced and there is no second system to open.

2.We already work with a partner to close our care and business gaps. Where does MedFlow fit?

Usually alongside them rather than instead of them. A partner brings a program: the measures, the clinical model, sometimes the funding. MedFlow is the layer that runs that program against your own record every day, and produces the completion evidence it will eventually be judged on. If a partner is already closing a set of gaps at the rate you want, we would rather look at the ones nobody has picked up yet.

3.Our team is organized and our process works. Why change it?

We are not suggesting it does not work. The question worth asking is what share of the panel it reaches in a normal week, and whether you could produce that number today without building it by hand. A good process still runs at the speed of the people running it, and it goes quiet in the weeks the schedule is full. Nothing about how your team works has to change. The difference is that the list still gets worked in the weeks nobody has time.

4.Which EHRs does MedFlow work with?

athenahealth and eClinicalWorks, in both directions. MedFlow reads the record to find patients with an open care gap and writes the result back into the chart, so the next person to open it sees what happened without switching systems.

5.Do we have to change how the practice runs?

No. MedFlow sits on top of the EHR you already use. Care teams see gap alerts in the record they already work in, so there is no second system for staff to learn and no new place to check.

6.What happens to the work my staff does today?

The follow-through moves into the background. Building recall lists, chasing referrals and re-checking whether an order was ever placed all run automatically, which frees your team for the parts of the visit that need a person.

7.How is this different from population health reporting?

A report tells you which gaps are open. MedFlow closes them. The same loop finds the patient, runs the outreach or the order, and records the outcome, so the list gets shorter instead of being regenerated next quarter.

8.How is our patient data protected?

MedFlow is SOC 2 Type 1 compliant and operates under a Business Associate Agreement. Access follows the permissions already set in your EHR, and every action the engine takes is logged against the record it touched.

9.What does it cost, and how do we start?

Pricing depends on your panel size and which care pathways you turn on. Book a demo and we will walk through your data, show you the gaps sitting in it today, and give you a number based on what we find.

    A complete record, by design

    • Holds everything that has happened to a patient, accurately and in one place.
    • Answers the questions you ask it, at the moment somebody asks them.
    • Records the order once it is placed and the referral once it is sent.
    • Reports on what was captured, when a report is run.
    • Covers as much of the panel as the people working it have hours for.
